Memoriam - Grandma Kiser was born in Germany March 30, 1850, died at the home of her son, Phil Kiser, at School Land May 22, 1932.
She came to America from Germany about 1856 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Magill, five sisters and two brothers and settled near Seguin, Texas.

Two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. Those surviving are Mrs. Anna Estep, of San Saba, and Mrs. Lucy Willie of Seguin.

Grandma Kiser was married to Jim Darnell in 1868. To them was born one child, Mrs. Mary Howard of Belmont. This husband died 1870.
Grandma Kiser, who was then Mrs. Darnell, was married to James Kiser, December 25, 1872. To this union was born seven children, five boys and two girls. The husband James Kiser and son Oscar, preceded her in death. The husbands death occurred Nov. 7, 1889, the son Oscar Nov. 12, 1890.

The children surviving are Mrs. Mary Howard, Belmont, W. H. Kiser Bebe, Phil Kiser, School Land; Mrs. Minnie Bock, Galveston; Mrs. Lucy Matthews, Lamarwue; Odo and Gus Kiser, Monthalia. She is survived by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She united with the Baptist church at Mount Hope in her early days. She lived a life of service and was loved and cherished by all who knew her.
Interment was made at Cost cemetery Monday, May 23, at 2 p.m.. Rev. Talkie Williams of the Baptist church of Nixon conducted the funeral services. After the services at the house the remains were followed to the cemetery by a multitude of relatives and friends. Her last resting place was made beautiful by a profession of lovely flowers.
The acting pallbearers were Mr. Will Petty and grandsons, Walker and Wesley Howard, Elmo Norris, Marlin Caraway and William Moss.

A large number of relatives and friends were present to pay their last respect to the aged and loved relative and friend. She will be greatly missed in this world by all who knew her but "Blessed are they who die in the name of the Lord."
