He was born February 4, 1892, at Hazel Valley, Arkansas, the son of Clarron Mack and Malissa Jane (Guinn) Bogan.

He married at least five times:
1) Feb. 14, 1914 - Miss Lanetta A. "Lennie" O'Neal (1896-1988),
Four children, Jack Emmins (B. 1917), Nettie Lee (b. 1919), Edward Otis (b. 1921) and Loretta Sue (b. 1924).
2) May 14, 1926 - Miss Pearl May Shockley (1908-1986),
3) Oct. 17, 1928 - Mrs. Ora (Craig) Inman (1896-XXXX),
4) May 3, 1934 - Miss Minerva Lee McDaniel (1915-1978),
One child, Emily Jane (b. 1935),
5) Jan. 8, 1938 - Mrs. Ermel Thelma (Paschal) Williford (1910-2002).
One child, Thelma Earline Bogan (b. 1940).

Burial is thought to be in the Yuma City Cemetery in Arizona.

Thinking Earl had abandoned her and her children, Ermel's father and brother went to Arizona and brought them back to Arkansas. She got a divorce and only many years later when he had not contacted his mother or other family members he was assumed to have died.
