Patricia "Patty" Boever Tschetter, age 72, died at Blake Medical Center Bradenton, FL, on August 18, 2021, due to complications from COVID-19.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Monday, August 23, 2021 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls, SD with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Liturgical Wake Service will be held 7:00 PM on Monday following the visitation.

Patty was born December 8, 1948, in Flandreau, SD, the first born of eight children of Kenneth and Arlene Boever. Patty moved with her parents to Sioux Falls from Egan, SD, at five years old. Patty was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church for most of her life, where she celebrated her first Communion and Confirmation. She attended school Little Flower Grade School (at St. Therese) and O'Gorman High School, graduating in 1967.

Following high school, Patty enrolled at Stewart's School of Hairstyling in Sioux Falls. She completed her cosmetology training and obtained her license

Patty married Richard Baird in 1968 and had three children Todd, Toby, and Tonya.

Patty always had a liking for Mathematics and starting training to be an accountant. While raising a family and working full-time, she began her studies at the University of Sioux Falls, graduating Suma Cuma Laude in 1995. During her studies, she started working at Security State Bank (SD), and as the company grew, so did her work responsibilities. Patty held the position of Vice President of Bank Holdings.

Patty married David Tschetter on June 20, 1987, in Sioux Falls. They lived in Sioux Falls and Owings Mill, Maryland. During the past 20 years, Patty dealt with multiple health problems, including a kidney transplant in 2007. She retired from work in 2006 because of her health problems.

Patty had many talents. She was skilled at designing and making decorative cakes. Family and friends enjoyed her cooking, excellent interior decorating skills, enjoyment in decorating for Christmas, and created and designed artificial flower arrangements. In the summer, she enjoyed planting flowers and gardening. From her garden produce, she loved canning tomatoes and making salsa. Friends and family enjoyed the fruits of her labor and her hand crafts and gifts.

The outdoors, camping and traveling throughout the United States were things that Patty enjoyed. David and Patty purchased their first camper in 2000 and enjoyed camping in the South Dakota State Parks and the Black Hills of South Dakota. Often there would be one or two grandchildren who visit during their camping trips. She enjoyed traveling through the United States. Upon David's retirement, they moved to Florida.

Patty was a person who faced every challenge head on in her life. Facing polycystic kidney disease (PKD), a genetic disease, there became a need for a kidney replacement. Dave became Patty's advocate in searching for a Living Donor, and many people stepped up to donate. However, finding a match became not only a challenge, but very frustrating. Finally, in Dave's leadership, he stepped up and was tested. To their Surprise, Dave was an exact match! Through Dave's unbounded Love and God's Miracle, a successful transplant was completed on October 31, 2007.

Family was important to Patty. She was very proud of her children and grand-children's accomplishments. Patty had an exceptional relationship and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Patty is survived by her husband, David Tschetter, Bradenton, FL; her children Todd Baird (Michaela) of Fremont, Nebraska, Toby Baird (Kelly) of Pleasanton, California, Tonya Baird-Hayne of Parker, Colorado, and stepson Matthew Tschetter (Sarah) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Eight grandchildren, Jamison Baird (Ashley), Sydney Baird Lindley(Christian), Riley Baird, McKenzie Hayne, Cole Hayne, Carson Tschetter, Owen Tschetter, and Quinn Tschetter; 3 Great Grand Children Layla, Maggie and Chazz; Four Brothers David Boever, Larry Boever, Kevin Boever and Kim Boever, and two Sisters; Pam Johnson and Peggy Boever.

She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Arlene Boever, and one brother Steve Boever.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the Blake Medical Center, Bradenton, FL, for their skilled and compassionate care during Patty's hospitalization. They are truly heroes.

Patty's faith was a significant part of her life, and the family requests that any memorial be made to St Therese, Sioux Falls, SD Building fund, and St Joseph Catholic School, Bradenton, FL.
