Arlene Evelyn Tordoff, daughter of Dale and Evelyn (Hay) Tordoff, was born April 15, 1927 at Elkton, SD. Arlene graduated from high school at Trent, SD.
Arlene was united in marriage with Kenneth S. Boever on October 28, 1947 in Flandreau, SD. After their marriage the couple made their home in Egan, SD before moving to Sioux Falls in 1953. Ken and Arlene moved into their home at 600 North Franklin Avenue in 1956.
Arlene was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and it's Altar Society for many years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose where she went through the officers' chairs and signed up over 200 new members. Additionally, she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
Arlene's vocation and purpose in life was to be a wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved raising her family and being there for her children when they came home from school. She delighted in baking cookies for them and her homemade potato salad is legendary.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Kenneth; four sons, David Boever, East Helena, MT, Larry Boever and his wife, Val, Palmer, AK, Kevin Boever and his wife, Gail, Sioux Falls, Kim Boever and his friend, Michelle Lommen, Sioux Falls; three daughters, Patty Tschetter and her husband, Dave, Sioux Falls, Pam Johnson and her husband, Steve, Livingston, MT, Peggy Boever, Sioux Falls; ten grandchildren, Todd Baird and his wife, Michaela, Toby Baird and his wife, Kelly, Tonya Hayne and her husband, Matt, Matt Tschetter and his wife, Sarah, Jodi Hirschman and her husband, Bryce, Heather Johnson, Ashley Johnson, Cassandra Johnson, Tera Perreault, and Kyla Perreault; five great-grandchildren, Jamison Baird, Sydney Baird, McKenzie Hayne, Cole Hayne and Carson Tschetter; two sisters, Marilyn Johnson and her husband, Ordale, Ventura, CA, Sharon Battle and her husband, Rick, Bozeman, MT; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; her son Steve Boever on August 5, 1999; three brothers, Dale, Marvin, and Harlan Tordoff; and three sisters, Mavis Tordoff, Ethel Butterson, and Gladys Lewis.
