James Boyd Humphreys, age 72, born May 9, 1931 in Waynesboro, TN, died April 24, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN. The funeral will be held at: First Baptist Church, April 26, 2004 at 11:00 AM. The officiating clergy will be Richard Tate. Burial will take place April 26, 2004 in the Swiss Cemetery, located in Hohenwald, TN. Visitation will be April 25, 2004 at 4:30. Survivors include wife, Ann (Curry) Humphreys; sons, Trev (Gerri) and Trent (Van) Humphreys; daughters, Trudy Reeves and Tracy (Randy) Hankins; brother, D. D. Humphreys, III; 10 Grandchildren; 2 Great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, D. D. and Elise (Hinson) Humphreys, Jr., and a sister, Andolyn Humphreys.

"James Boyd Humphreys, age 72 of Hohenwald, died Saturday, April 24, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columnbia. Furneral service was held Monday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Hohenwald with Richard Tate officiating. Burial was in Swiss Cemetery.
Mr. Humphreys was the son of the late D. D. and Elise Hinson Humphreys, Jr., born May 9, 1931 in Waynesboro. He served as Lewis County Assessor of Property from 1972 to 1984
Survivors include his wife, Ann Curry Humphreys; two sons, Trev (Gerry) Humphreys and Trent (Van) Humphreys; two daughters, Trudy Reeves and Tracy (Randy) Haskins all of Hohenwald; his brother, D. D. Humphreys, III of Destin, Florida; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his sister, Andolyn Humphreys."

Note: Boyd was an avid hunter with bow and arrow. His death resulted from complications resulting from injuries sustained in a fall from a deer stand, about 18 months prior to his death.
