Bedford- Jane Hicks, 76, of Bedford, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 14th at the White River Lodge in Bedford.
Born December 7, 1944 in Depauw, IN, she was the daughter of Leon Bowles and Goldie (Crecelius) Bowles. She married Sammy Hicks on September 23, 1983 and he survives. Jane was a very faithful Christian. She was a kind and generous person with a heart of gold. She loved children and animals. She made friends easily and cared very much for them and especially her family.
Survivors include her husband Sammy of Bedford; daughter, Christina Flick (Larry) of Springville; granddaughter, Lindsay Cessna (Phil) of Mitchell; grandson, Joshua Flick (Alli) of Springville; great-grandchildren, Alaina Grace Cessna, Caroline Elizabeth Cessna, Lydia Catherine Cessna, Cooper Carl Flick, and Adeline Christine Flick; sisters, Susie Halstead of Columbus, and Linda Matthias (Gus) of Paragon; brothers, Ronnie Bowles of Waverly, Nick Bowles (Mandy) of Stanford, Randall Bowles of Corydon, Danny Bowles (Diane) of Spencer, Don Bowles (Rhea) of Bloomington; sister-in-law, Carol Bowles of Greenwood; aunt, Alma Harbeson of Corydon; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond Bowles; and a nephew, Cory Bowles.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Chaplain Carol Heinz officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
