Jane's place of birth is uncertain. It is found in different family trees as either Ireland, Germany, Pennsylvania or Ohio. Other than the 1850 census giving that she was born in Ohio, I do not know the sources of the other places of birth but am guessing from family tradition. The dates of her birth and death are given here as they were given to me. I do not know the source of these dates but they may have come from a family bible. The individual, whose work Jane's dates came from, also had complete birth and death dates for all of Jane's children with Martin Saltsman - including two children who died as infants.
