Her grave marker is in the same design as Julia's parents E. Wilson died 1893, and his wife S. Wilson died 1904. Her headstone is also in the same Ebrite Addition, and in the Wilson family plot. The three identical headstones appear to have been inset at Mesquite Cemetery for Mrs. Coats, E. Wilson and his wife S. Wilson, from 1893 to 1905.
The Coats family was prolific in the greater Mesquite area at that time. Many Coats were buried in the Long Creek Cemetery and the Pleasant Mound Cemetery around the same time. Coats burials in these cemeteries often included spouses. It is curious why she is not in one of the Coats family plots in those other cemeteries.
She may be a relative with in the Brisendine, Wlson, or Caldwell extended families, which have burials together in the Wilson plot at Old Mesquite Cemetery.
Research continues on identifying Mrs. Coats. If you would like to help, please contact [email protected].
