Mrs. Cordelia Aspinwall
Mrs. Cordelia Aspinwall, aged 88, widow of George Aspinwall and an aged and highly esteemed resident of this place, died at her home early Saturday morning after a long period of failing health.
She was a daughter of James and Elizabeth (Buel) Ottaway and was born in the town of Middlefield in July 1852. Practically all her life was spent in this community and she had resided in the house in which she died about 50 years. She was the oldest member of the Westville Baptist Church and the Ladies' Guild.
Her only immediate survivors are two sons, Glen Aspinwall of this place and Paul Aspinwall of Oneonta. She also leaves two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two nieces and six nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon with a prayer service at the home at 1 o'clock followed by the funeral services at 1:30 in Westville Baptist church, the Rev. Walter A. Miller officiated.
Burial was made in the Westville cemetery between her husband who died in December 1940 and a four year old son, Kenneth, who died in September, 1896.
