Gladys Beasley, affectionately known as "Goose" or "Lucy", slipped away peacefully at her home on April 26, 2008 after a short illness. She was born in Overton, Texas, the daughter of Gertrude and Elbert Charlie Cooper. She had nine brothers and sisters.
Still surviving are Willean, Shirley, Kenneth, Butch, Darleen, Roger, and Audrey.

In 1952 she married Billy Joe Beasley, and in 1957 they moved to Leesville where they raised four children.
Goose is survived by all of her children Susan Edmisson and husband Leon, Jack Beasley and wife Kristie, Michael Joe Beasley and wife Tina, and Danny Keith Beasley and wife Reba. Surviving grandchildren are Shaunda, Tiona, Jennifer, Lauren, Heather, Logan, Keagan, Amanda, Kamryn, Kyle, and Jacklynn. Five great grandchildren got to know their Goose, Shayna, Desiree, Zach, Aiden, and Alli.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Leesville. They helped make it possible to care for Mother in her home. They provided professional support in a kind and caring manner, day or night.
Goose will be forever beloved and greatly missed by her family and friends, including her closest, dearest friend Tom Roberts.
Services honoring Gladys Beasley were held at Labby Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Burial followed in Oak Forrest Cemetery
