Ferdinand Zastrow (1839-1931) and Amelia "Emilee" Klabunde Zastrow (1844-1898) were born in Norenberg, Pommern, Prussia (now Germany). They married in 1865 and arrived in New York, NY, on Nov 20, 1869, with their two children, Herman H. Zastrow (1866-1943) and Anna Maria Bertha Zastrow (1867-1964). They subsequently settled in Portage, Columbia County, WI, in about 1870, where their family increased by eight children.
