John enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid golfer and hunter. He was a man of many talents, including singing, playing the guitar, and woodworking. John loved his family very much. He was their strong foundation and kept them together as family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his two sons, Jon Matthew Pippen (Trish), Marcus Pippen (Kim); six grandchildren, Natalie Pippen, Emily Pippen, Madison Thompson, Knova Pippen, Khloe Pippen, Tristen Rails; four great-grandchildren, Weston Thompson, Jackson Thompson, Weston Cotten, Levi Pippen; sister, Faye Powell (Troy); two nephews, John Shannon Powell (Elise), Mike Powell; niece, Christy Batton; great-nephews, Justin and Josh Russell, Michael Powell; great-niece, Sharlee Powell and a host of extended family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Shirley ''Chip'' Pippen.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Pinola, MS, on Friday, August 6, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
