28 Dec 2006: Madelyn V. Brungart, 83, died Sunday, December 24, 2006, at Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte. Born December 25, 1922, in Rebersburg, she was the daughter of Norman E. Brungart and the former Alverta A. Bierly. Madelyn was raised in Rebersburg. She graduated from Miles Township High School in 1941. She took nurses training in Williamsport Hospital during World War II. She earned a Bachelors and Masters degree in Nursing from New York University. She had spent the last 20 years in Bradenton, FL, before becoming a resident at Centre Crest. Surviving are sister Evelyn Schultz and husband Robert of State College, and brother Eugene Brungart and his wife Esther of Blanchard. Also surviving are nieces Sherrie Derstine of Charlottesville, VA, and Karen Schultz of State College. Private service at the convenience of the family. Burial Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery in Rebersburg. [Centre Daily]
