Mrs. Edith Mildred Lowe, 61, a longtime Bethalto resident, died at 12:07 a.m. today at Wood River Township Hospital after a lengthy illness.
She worked in the housekeeping department at Wood River Township Hospital for five years before retiring in 1975.
Her husband, Archie, died Dec. 18, 1969.
Surviving are two brothers, Frank Doerr of Alton and William Doerr of Bethalto and two sisters, Miss Gertrude Doerr of Bethalto and Mrs. Dorothy Rutherford of East Alton.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Southern Baptist Church in Meadowbrook with the Rev. Vernon Dodson officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
The First Southern Baptist Church of Meadowbrook building fund has been named as a memorial.
