Mrs. Cecil Ortner, 79, a resident of Fayetteville and a former seamstress for Serbin Fashions and Blue Ridge Manufacturing, died Wednesday (April 1, 1998) at Huntsville Rehabilitation and Heath Care Center. A Lincoln County native and daughter of the late Henry Calvin and Mollie Noles Stewmon, she was a member of the Woodman of the World. Mrs. Ortner helded build the Calvary Baptist Church, where she continued as a member. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Ann and Chuck Saunders of Huntsville, Alabama; sisters, Bernice McDonald of Hazel Green, Alabama and Glendon Edmonds of Crossville; and grandchildren, Kyle Saunders of Memphis and Mark Saunders of Huntsville. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Jones officiating. Interment was in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
