He was the son of George Washington and Laura Louella (Darnell) Stewmon and married Mollie Noles - 08 Sep 1912 - Lincoln Co., Tennessee. His obituary follows:

Henry C. Stewmon of Fayetteville died Sunday night at Lincoln County Hospital following a long illness. He was 81 years old.

Services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at Higgins Funeral Home, with the Rev. R. B. Kennedy and the Rev. Marvin Allison officiating. Burial was in Riverview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Stewmon was a native of Moore County. He was a retired farmer and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. His wife, Mrs. Mollie Noles Stewmon, died in 1960.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ralph Ortner, Fayetteville, Mrs. Walter Neeley, Evansville, Indiana, and Mrs. Jerry Edmonds, Crossville; a sister, Mrs. Buford Barnes, Fayetteville; two brothers, George Stewmon, Mulberry, and John Stewmon, Columbia; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
