Glenn E. Beachy, 89, of Confluence, died November 13, 2007, in Somerset Hospital.

He was born June 11, 1918, in Fort Hill, a son of Elwood and Annie (McClintock) Beachy.

He was preceded in death by parents, wife, Dorothy (Keslar), brothers, Raymond and Warren and a sister, Edith Hetrick.

He is survived by a daughter, Carol Ann Leary and husband, Bruce of Pittsburgh; son, Edwin Beachy and wife, Marjorie of Ohiopyle; grandchildren: Peter and Patrick Leary, Michael, Lisa and Marisa Beachy; great-grandchildren: Joshua Leary, Megan and Brooke Leary, Tyler and Taiten Beachy and Miya Lynn Harris. Also, brothers: Galen Beachy of Fort Hill and Clarence Beachy of Confluence.

Mr. Beachy was a United States Army veteran of World War II, a 54 year member of the Ursina American Legion Post 946, a 50 year member of the Confluence Lions Club and a lifetime member of the Confluence United Methodist Church.

He retired after 40 years employment with General Refractories, Inc., Fort Hill.

Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the HUMBERT FUNERAL HOME, Confluence, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Linda Dinger and the Rev. Arthur Gotjen officiating. Interment in Somerset County Memorial Park.
