Amelia Gilchrist, 88, of Iselin, died on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the Brighton Gardens of Edison.

Born in Newark, she came to Iselin in 1962. She was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Iselin. She loved to play Bingo & knit, but most of all spend time with her family.

She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Wilbur (d.2006); her parents, Harry & Amelia Lytle; her son-in-law, Robert (d.2017); and all of her 8 siblings, George Winter, Peter Lytle, James Lytle, Louis Lytle, Gilbert Lytle, Joe Lytle, Caroline Lytle, & Mabel Lytle.

She is survived by her two children, Carol Ann Hochrun of Colonia & Harold Gilchrist & his wife Kathy of Jackson; 5 grandchildren, Phil, Robert, Timothy & his wife Ashley, Christopher & his wife Lyndsay, & Jennifer; 1 great-grandson, Landon; & many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 4-7 pm at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 1225 Green Street & Cooper Avenue in Iselin.

A brief viewing will take place on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 9 -10 am with a Funeral Service at 10 am in the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 1225 Green Street & Cooper Avenue in Iselin. Interment will be in CloverLeaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
