EDITH UNWIN

Edith May Unwin, 86, of Nevada, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1982 at Story County Hospital.

She was born July 13, 1896 in Thomasboro, Ill., the daughter of Wilbur and Ida Winchester Alexander, and attended the Thomasboro schools. In 1913, she moved with her family from Illinois to a farm west of Nevada.

On Oct. 3, 1915, she married Floyd Unwin in Ames. The couple had been married 67 years.

Mrs. Unwin was a member of the Nevada United Methodist Chruch, and she was past president of the VFW Auxiliary and WWI Barracks.

She is survived by her husband, Floyd, two brothers Albert Alexander of Nevada and Harry Alexander of Phoenix, Ariz. and a sister, Lelia Hopper of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lee and Roy.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with Rev. Harold Wagner officiating. Burial will be in the Story County Memorial Gardens, Ames.

Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada.
