Mrs. Eddie Maier, 75, a native of here who had been a resident of San Angelo for the past 52 years died in her home near that city on Tuesday, august 28, at 4:20 a.m.
Final rites were held on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. John J. Mesiter officiating. Burial was in the Fairmount Cemetery.
Mrs. Maier, nee Bertha Jung, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Jung, pioneer settlers of this region, was born here on March 17, 1870.
Mr. and Mrs. Maier were married in Fredericksburg on October 10, 1893, the couple then going to San Angelo, where Mr. Maier served as president of the San Angelo Nation Farm Loan Association for many years. He died on January 31, 1943.
Survivors include two sons; Norman A. and Erwin J. Maier, both of San Angelo; a grandson in the service; a great granddaughter and two brothers; Carl Jung of Johnson City and Jim Jung of Fredericksburg.
