Funeral services were held Sunday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fredericksburg for Mrs. W. L. Brandon, 61, who died Friday in a San Antonio hospital after several weeks' illness. Interment was in the Catholic Cemetery, under the direction of Fatheree Funeral Home of Kerrville. Rev. Father Henkes, assistant pastor of the church, read the service.
Mrs. Emma Jung Brandon was born in Gillespie County on the old Jung homestead, and spent her entire life in the Pedernales Valley and in the Harper community, except three years' residence in Kerrville. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church and was interested in church and community affairs. She had been married to Mr. Brandon for 42 years and he, with three sons, Andrew, LeRoy and Charles, and one daughter, Mrs. B. N. Kuhlmann, of this city, survive her. She is survived also by two sisters, Mrs. William Bierschwale of Fredericksburg, and Mrs. Eddie Maier of San Angelo, and two brothers, Charles Jung of Johnson City, and James Jung of Harper.
Pallbearers were Will Auld, Valeska Kuhlmann, Max Bierschwale, Will Roeder, Lawrence Kuhlmann and W. J. Goodson. Hundreds of friends and neighbors from Kerrville and Harper were present for the funeral services in Fredericksburg.
