was born on December 21, 1889 in Osceola County, Iowa to Andrew and Myrtie (Siver) Naab. It was in the Melvin Iowa area that Mabel grew up and received her schooling. She later attended school in Ames Iowa and then taught school. She was united in marriage to Frank Tadd on November 19, 1913 at Ocheyedan Iowa. They farmed in the Ocheyedan area for 6 years, then moved to a farm near Clear Lake, South Dakota for 14 years and to the Lake Wilson, Minnesota area where they farmed until 1944. They next moved to Pipestone, Minnesota where her husband Frank, passed away on September 28, 1971. Mabel continued to live in Pipestone and since 1979 had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Home in Pipestone. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pipestone. Her death came on Tuesday, March 5, 1985 at the Good Samaritan Home at the age of 95.
Besides her many friends, she is lovingly remembered by her 3 sons, Orville of Minneapolis MN., Darwin of Fountain Valley, CA. and Wyman of Walnut Grove , MN. A daughter Mrs. Howard (Arleah) Brecher of Pipestone MN., 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, a brother Lawrence Naab of Melvin, Iowa and a sister, Bessie (Naab) Tangeman of Ocheyedan, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank, three brothers and two sisters.
