On Ancestry Eithel's birth record list Jane Barnard as his mother. Jane Barnard is Eithel's grandmother, Ed Smith's mother. When Eithel was born the mid-wife was completing paperwork and ask Ed for mother's name. Ed gave his own mothers name. A human error was made is the recording of his mother. The family always knew it, it never effected anything and no need was seen to have it corrected. The record is wrong, not the memorial. Matilda Lawson is his birth mother.
