Maria had been privately tutored and was fluent in German, Italian and French before she left Europe for the United States where her impeccable mastery of English followed.
Maria loved to entertain and cooked European as well as traditional Yankee and British cuisines. She was an active member of the League of Women Voters for many years and developed a number of treasured lifelong friendships there. She was also involved with Campion Center in Weston for many years. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Wayland. She was also an avid reader and involved in several Book Clubs.
She leaves behind her daughter Ednah Locke Walser of East Fallowfield, Pennsylvania; her grandson John Peter Crysdale of Toronto, Canada; her granddaughter Sarah Walser of State College, Pennsylvania where she attends Medical School; two great grandchildren; a nephew and a niece.
A short Graveside Episcopal Ceremony will be held by the Rev. Canon William Clay Parnell Canon to the Ordinary on Saturday, July 21st at 10:30 am at North Cemetery in Wayland.
