He was born in Andrews, a son of the late Maxie Hartwell and Mildred McCants Parsons.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and member of the American Legion Post No. 111.
Mr. Parsons retired from Horry Tractor and Implement and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred ``Bill'' J. Parsons; a foster son, Henry David of Conway; a foster daughter, Lill Hardee of Conway; six sisters, Irma Mears and Lyra Griffin, both of Andrews, Mildred McMullen of Sumter, Mae Young of Columbia, Maxine Phillips of Colorado, and Euke Green of Raleigh, N.C.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel. Burial will be in Brown Swamp United Methodist Church Cemetery.
