Mrs. Lydia Margeret Alex was born July 7th 1860 at Bureau County, Illinois and died in Hesston, Kansas February 11th 1920, age 59 years 6 months and 5 days. Her parents died when she was a small child and she made her home with Peter Fauber and family. In February 1884 she was united in marriage to Ira Brainard at LaMoille, Illinois. To this union three boys were born, Benjamin, Chester and George. Soon after their marriage they moved to Kansas and settled on a farm near Newton. Several years later they moved to Hesston and she has resided here until death called her where there is no more suffering. (My sources all say she was born in July, either 7th, 8th, or 10th.
