Ms. Pohlod, 89, died Wednesday.
She was born in Belt, Montana, and came to Spokane in the late '30s. She was a daughter of a Montana pioneer family, and attended schools in Great Falls, Montana. She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1921 and Great Falls Commercial College.
Ms. Pohlod worked for Hoag X-Ray Company and was secretary for 27 years at the Northern Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1969.
She is survived by a sister, Pauline Fey of Great Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Mike, John, Andrew and Charles; and four sisters, Elizabeth, Mary, Anne and Lucille.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Riverview Convalescent Center, 1801 E. Upriver Drive, Spokane, WA 99207.
