Amanda or Amandy was married to her husband Thomas Marion Provence (who is also buried in this cemetery) between 1855 and 1860. Both of their graves are marked with tombstones. They were married in Texas I believe either in Wise or Titus County Texas. Amanda lived most of her adult life in Wise County Texas. Her mother was Rebecca (Powell)Laird-Provence born in Georgia and her father was Turner Laird. Amanda was also born in Georgia. When Amanda's father Turner Laird died her mother Rebecca married Frazier Vandalia Provence and Amanda married Fraziers brother Thomas Marion Provence. That is why she has the same last name as her mothers second husband. Amanda and Thomas had at least 6 children together Zebulin Edwin Provence, John Marion Provence,Rebecca B. Provence, Arthur Frazier Provence, Mary E. Provence, and Cassanna Vandalia (Provence) Coffman. Many of her children are also buried in cemeteries in Wise County Texas and many of her descendants still live in Wise county Texas.
