Selena Terhune Hanks, 83, died Wednesday, July 1, 1998 at her residence. She was the widow of Marion Hanks. A native of Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Laura Isham Terhune. She was a 1932 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, a former employee of the Model Market on Court Street in Lawrenceburg and a member of Sand Spring Baptist Church. Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Selena H.) Chilton and a son Rick (Laura) Hanks, all of Lawrenceburg; threes sisters, Mildred Dunn,, Clarksville, IN, Hallie Veatch, Georgetown and Anne Freeman, Harrodsburg; two brothers, Claude M. Terhune, Harlingen, TX and Loren T. Terhune, Lexington; three grandchildren, two step grandchildren, two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia Smith and a brother, William Terhune. Funeral services were held. Friday, July 3, at the Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg, with Bro. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial was in Sand Spring Cemetery.
