Barbara (Koetter) VonAllmen, 83, passed away from a stroke to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior on June 15, 2021. She was born in Lexington, KY, but spent her childhood in Starlight, IN, where she worked on neighboring farms. She attended the Ferdinand, IN School for girls, and was in the first graduating class of Providence High School in Clarksville. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Atkins Chapel Methodist Church. She worked at Kroger, Union National Bank and Trust, the Floyd County Auditor's Office and the Floyd County Health Department. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert Lee (Bob) VonAllmen, and her parents, William J. and Alberta Augusta (Breit) Koetter, and her beloved sister Nancy (Koetter) Denison. She leaves behind her brothers Carl (Sandy) and Bill (Kay) Koetter, sister-in-law Debra VonAllmen, and her two sons, Dean VonAllmen, a carpenter for Koetter Woodworking, and Dion vonAllmen, a mathematics teacher at Central High School in Louisville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was an avid UK basketball fan and spent many exciting hours watching their games. She was an avid gardener and expert baker, and loved spending time throwing parties for her numerous friends and family members. It has been said that she never missed a holiday or special event to spend with her loved ones.
Visitation will be from 2 – 7:30 pm on Friday, June 18th, at Naville & Seabrook Funeral Home, 1119 E Market Street, New Albany, with her funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday, June 19th at 11:00 am, and internment at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight, IN. Memorial expressions are requested for Atkins Chapel Church, 7834 Atkins Rd, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119 or the Louisville Deaf Oral School, 111 E. Kentucky Street, Louisville, KY 40203.
