Agnes Glover Blackburn, age 93, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Hillview Health Center.

Agnes was born in Carter County to the late Frank and Bertie Sims Glover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Stuart "Haney" Blackburn; her first husband, C.O. Polen, Jr.; and six siblings, Ed Harris, James Glover, Charles Glover, Lillian Carden, Mary Moody and Edna Cole.

Agnes was a longtime member of Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, reading and visiting Amish country.

Those left to cherish her memories include her children, Carroll Glover (Janet), Janette West (Tony), Anna Hodge and Orin Blackburn (Carol); grandchildren, Tim Barnett (Shelia), Travis Glover, Dustin Glover, Chris West, Samantha Martinez (Josh), Grace Blackburn and Mallory Blackburn; great grandchildren, Riley Barnett, Kaden Roberts and Sophie Martinez; special friend, Leonard Cross. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will hold a celebration of life service for Agnes Glover Blackburn at 7:00 pm, on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Alan King and Caleb King officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm prior to the service on Thursday. Agnes will be laid to rest at Mountain Home National Cemetery and a graveside service will be held at a later date.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
