T.W. Bryer, 95, of Porter, Texas, passed away on July 1, 2021. He was born to parents Abraham Tilton Bryer and Gladys Adelia Dodd Bryer.
He retired from the Port of Houston and was a member of the Sam B. Crawford Masonic Lodge #1418. T.W Loved being outside and working in his yard and garden.
T.W. was preceded in death by his wife Zula Ritchie Bryer; daughter Doris Stancil and husband Paul; granddaughter Paula Stancil Dees and and great grandson Ryan Maddux.
He is survived by his sons James Bryer and wife Mary and Delbert Bryer and wife Connie; daughter Clisty Vaden & husband Cecil. Also left, to cherish his memory are his 13 grandchildren and many-many great and great-great grandchildren.
T.W. was a very proud man that God blessed us with for 95 years. He was a man that loved his family beyond words and provided well for. He was raised up with very little, had no education, yet was absolutely one of the wisest and smartest people you would ever meet. He loved his wife of 47 years and his children beyond measure. If you sat and talked to him for just a few minutes you would quickly learn how extremely proud he was of his home and tell you that "his wife and kids built it". He loved his kids, but his Grandkids could never do anything wrong in his eyes. He never met a stranger - everyone was a friend he just hadn't met yet. He would give you the shirt off his back, but never ask for anything for himself.
On June 28, 1944, at the young age of 18 T.W. was inducted in the United States Army. Over the next 2 ½ years he PROUDLY served his country as a Private First Class soldier. During his time served in World War II, he was assigned to the 37th infantry division in the Philippines. Upon the completion of his service, he was honorably discharged on December 6, 1946. Among his many titles a "Veteran" was one of his proudest, and for the rest of his life, he would proclaim it with pride.
In addition to the love for his family and his country he was so honored to be a Master Mason. He was a dedicated member for almost 60 years. During this time he taught many candidates their work, and he would beam with pride when they would serve their lodge as he did. He was admired and respected by so many that considered him as their second father.
