Charles A. Nixdorf, 89, of Iberia died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1988 at his home. He was born May 26, 1898 in Tuscumbia to Bismark and Florence McDonald Nixdorf. On April 17, 1921 he was married to Bertha Ramsey, who died Feb. 8, 1987.
Mr. Nixdorf had been a locomotive moulder for Commonwealth Steel in Granite City, Ill. from 1923 until 1943 when he retired to Iberia to farm. In 1948 he was manager of the MFA in Iberia. Mr. Nixdorf was a member of the Fairview Christian Church.
Surviving him are a son, Bob Nixdorf of Iberia; a brother, Ralph Nixdorf of Belleflower, Calif.; four sisters, Irene Crismon of Eldon, Minnie Smith of Grand Junction, Colo., Alice Abbott of Tuscumbia and Helen Gillfillan of Fontana, Calif.; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairview Christian Church with Bro. Floyd Barlow officiating. Burial was in Livingston Cemetery under the direction of Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home of Iberia.
