Bertholf.
Miss Alice Bertholf died at her late residence, 1015 East Calhoun street, Jan. [sic] night, aged 15 years, 4 months and 16 days.
Deceased was born in Eldorado township Sept. 9, 1890, coming to this city with her parents nine years ago. Her disease was consumption, from which she has been sick about five months. It will be remembered that her brother died with this same disease one year ago last Monday. She started to school last fall but only attended for a couple of days, as already the disease had settled on her to such an extent that her recovery was impossible. For the past five weeks she was bedfast and for the past 11 days she was unable to take nourishment, the disease seemingly having permeated her entire system.
She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Taylor Bertholf, one brother, Jesse, of St. Louis, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Bartleson of this city, and Mrs. Charles Ruth of Scotland township.
