Garnetta Ewing Stewart, 93, Independence, MO, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 1995, at Independence Regional Hospital. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, at George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home, Independence; burial in Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.

Mrs. Stewart was born September 21, 1902, in Blackwater, MO. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church near Sedalia, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Stewart, in 1980; and a daughter, Norma Batts. Survivors include her son, Clifford E. Stewart, Emporia, KS; daughter, Maxine Whalen, Independence, MO; sisters, Bertha Wood, Sedalia, MO, Juliana Smith, Lancaster, CA; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
