Phylis June Pursifull, 91 of Warren and formerly of Elizabethtown, KY, passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Heritage Pointe of Warren. June was a 1947 graduate of Warren High School. She was an office worker in civil service at Fort Monroe, Virginia, she had also worked at the Jefferson Proving Ground. She retired from Fort Knox, Kentucky in 1988. While living at Heritage Pointe in Warren she assisted in the library, cataloging books, delivering books to residents and often reading to them. She was well known for her friendly smile. June was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warren and former member of the Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, KY where June and her husband Doyle actively served in their bus ministry for 20 years.

June was born on June 17, 1929 in Huntington County, the daughter of the late William C. and Dortha B. (Hoover) Sheets.

She was united in marriage to Doyle Pursifull, Jr. on October 30, 1948 in Markle. Doyle preceded her in death on August 3, 2009.

Survivors include a sister: Gloria Ann (Robert) Jackson of Markle and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Lois Double, Wava Miller and Shirley Anderson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle, IN. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. We will be following the CDC's and Indiana's guidelines for social gatherings.

Interment will take place at the Markle Cemetery.
