Arden - Mrs. Amanda, wife of F. A. "D" Lance, of Arden, Buncombe County, died at her home last Thursday night.

Mrs. Lance was afflicted with consumption, and some time ago, was taken to Augusta, GA, with the hope of restoring her health. The change did no good, and Mrs. Lance was brought back several weeks ago.

Amanda was about 40 years of age and a sister of Street Superintendent Murray of Asheville. She leaves behind a husband and four children.
