Mary (Marilla) was the daughter of Dank C. Copeland and Almedia Herring. She married William Peterson in 1906. They were married until his death in 1963. She later married Roy Taylor of Waco, TX. She had three sons: Cecil, , Cullen, and Billy Peterson and four daughters: Hattie Kulbeth, Helen Hooper, Cleo Dworacek and Dorothy Horn.
