Attending the funeral of Ywachetta, 9-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Jenninss, 1203 Hargrove northwest, Wednesday in Roxton, Texas, were the following Ardmore friends and relatives; Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Jennings, Mrs. Cal Jennings, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Barnes and son, Wayne, Miss Roxie Lindsay, Mrs. H.L. Bradshaw, Rev. W. Lee Rector, J.Ed. Denton and son, Alvin. The funeral was conducted by Mr. Rector, pastor of the First Baptist church here. Ywachetta died Sunday at the home of an aunt in Fort Worth, Tex. The parents were on their way to Temple, Texas, with their daughter when her condition became worse."

Funeral services for J.E. Denton, who died early Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jess Jennings, 24 Second avenue northeast, will be held tomorrow afternoon at Roxton, Texas, his former home. The body will be taken overland by Harvey Bros. Services to be conducted at 3 p.m. will be in charge of Rev. Elbert M. Whitwell, pastor of the First Christian church. Pall bearers will be his nephews, all of Roxton.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Denton, two sons, J.W. and Alvin Denton, the daughter in whose home he died, and a second daughter, Mrs. Herschell Attabury, Los Angeles, Cal. Also one sister, Mrs. Della Bibble, Roxton. Going from here will be Mr. and Mrs. H.I. Bradshaw, Mr. and Mrs. Lyndall Byrd and Kenneth Bradshaw."

Helen's mother, Ellen, age 73, & brother, Alvin, 21, still lived with them. Alvin had a job delivering items from a drug store.

"Handkerchief Shower Honors Mrs. Jennings
Rebekah Study club of the Ardmore Rebekah lodge observed its first meeting of the season Tuesday night in the I.O.O.F. hall, with Mrs. Jess Jennings, member of the group, as honoree at a handkerchief shower.

The event was a farewell courtesy for Mrs. Jennings, who is leaving Nov. 1 for Los Angeles, Cal., to maker her home. Hostesses for the affair were Mrs. Earl long and Mrs. J.F. Alford. . . . "

Helen was also honored on this same day when she and a fellow co-worker, Mrs. Eaves, were honored by a tea given by on their behalf employees of the the Southwestern Bell Telephone company. Mrs. Eaves was retiring after 28 years of service.
"Sixty guests called at the tea in the office at the telephone exchange. Also sharing in the courtesy was Mrs. Jess Jennings, who is moving to California. Both Mrs. Eaves and Mrs. Jennings were remember with gifts."

Helen & Jess were living in Port Hueneme when Jess's step-sister, Nancy, & husband, Rev. Don Pettijohn visited them in September 1947.

Helen's mother died in Los Angeles on November 9, 1954.
