Funeral services for Eric Justin Cruce, 34, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at R.L. Leintz Funeral Home chapel in Leavenworth. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery in Leavenworth.
Mr. Cruce died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007.
He was born Aug. 2, 1973, in Leavenworth, the son of Charles F. and Sheryl R. Steed Cruce.
Mr. Cruce worked at Midwest Graphic Inc. in Lawrence.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, Charles and Denise Cruce, Lansing; two daughters, Caitlyn Cruce, Lansing, and Haley Cruce, Lawrence; a brother, Jason Cruce and wife, Marae; a daughter, Chelsea Cruce; his companion, Melanie Allison, of the home, and her children, Caleb Miller and Makaela Allison.
He was preceded in death by his mother; his aunt, Sally Kenyon; and his grandparents, William and Lucille Cruce, and Ray and Jean Steed.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to a fund for Eric's children in care of Citizens National Bank, 601 N. Main Street, Lansing 66043.

A medical condition may have have contributed to the death of a fisherman at Lake Shawnee Monday.

The Shawnee County Sheriff's office identifies the man as 34-year old Eric Cruce of Lawrence.

The Shawnee County Coroner's office completed an autopsy Tuesday. Their report says Cruce had epilepsy and list thats as a contributing factor to his death from accidental drowning.

The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office was called to Lake Shawnee around 7:45 am Monday. They say Cruce was fishing on the east side of the lake when he apparantly fell into the water.

A nearby fisherman pulled him from the lake and started CPR, but Cruce died at the scene.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating, but says foul play is not suspected.
