Mavis Judice passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 98 on May 24th just a month shy of her 99th birthday. She was born in Anahuac, Texas to Archie and Ruthie Pearl Stines and lived in Anahuac until her marriage to Vernon Judice. The moved to Houston where they were married for over 50 years and raised their two children, Patricia and Paul. Family, friends and faith were very important to Mavis and she was a loyal member of Park Place Baptist Church for as long as her health allowed her to attend. She loved to bake and was known for her chocolate chip cookies and sock it to me cake, which she often baked for neighbors and friends. She is survived by her children Patricia Johnson and spouse Marvin Johnson, Paul Judice and wife Susan Matheson; grandchildren Jordan Johnson and Claire Judice as well as beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon, brother Max Stines, sister Ellen Stines Rosenbaum and all of her in-laws. The family would like to thank the nurses at the Hampton at Meadows Place for their care of her in her final years and especially Kay and Donna of Tru-Care Hospice. A small graveside service will be held at 11:00am, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery on Saturday, June 5, 2021. The family has requested that donations be made in her name to the Houston Area Parkinson's Society at hapsonline.org or 2700 SW Freeway, suite 300, Houston, TX 77098.
