Mrs. Ellen, a former and longtime resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Archibald Stines and Ruthie Stines. Mrs. Ellen was born and raised in Anahuac Texas which is east of Houston on the Trinity Bay. She graduated from Sam Houston University in 1948 and was an English teacher until her marriage to Jerry Rosenbaum Sr. in 1950. Mrs. Ellen was a homemaker and a devoted mother to her children. She was also an active member in her church, First Lutheran Church and did volunteer work for St. Joseph's Diner and Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by her daughter, Leigh Ann Potts (Randy) of Santa Barbara, CA; and son, Jerry Rosenbaum Jr. (Marie) of Plano, TX; 3 grandchildren, Jeffrey Potts (Bridget), Jimmy Rosenbaum and David Rosenbaum; 3 great grandchildren, Tyler Potts, Devin Potts, Mia Potts; and one sister, Mavis Judice of Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Rosenbaum, Sr.; her parents, Archibald and Ruthie Stines; and sibling, Maxwell Stines.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 10:00AM until the service time.
The family would like to thank her caregivers/friends Billie Richard, Joyce Thayer and Laurie Thode for all of their care throughout the years.
