Tressa Star Odum Edwards, 73, wife of Mills Robert "Bobby" Edwards, Jr., passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at her home.

Born on October 29, 1947, in Savannah, GA, she was a daughter of the late Berties DeWitt Odum, Sr. and the late Mary Alice Davis Mathis.

Starr absolutely loved life. She worked hard and played hard. She was at her best when with her family. She enjoyed cooking for friends and family and was considered the best cook in the family. People were drawn to her during gatherings. She could bring out the best in her family and friends. She was a loving mom and role model for her children. Her grandkids affectionately called her "Granny Starr" and begged to visit or stay overnight. She was the go-to person when somebody in the family had a problem, was sick, or just needed somebody to listen. One of her passions included her pets, especially her dogs. More than one person has said that they would want to be reincarnated as one of Starr's pets. She enjoyed several different sports over the years including softball, snow skiing, and bowling. She enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time on the beach. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. She loved to decorate her home and spend time with her family, especially the young ones. She always dreamed for a white Christmas while surrounded by her family. Everyone who knew her loved her and will miss her.

Survivors include her husband of Myrtle Beach; three children, Gene Wilder and Tina Wilder of Myrtle Beach and Kris Cooper (Kayla) of Georgetown; twelve grandchildren, Brandon Wilder, Logan Wilder, Hailey Wilder, Megan Wilder, Tressa Morris, Paige Morris, Alyssa Caraballo, Chloe Cooper, Faith Cooper, Noah Cooper, Kristgen Cooper and Kari Cooper; five great grandchildren; one brother, Buck Odum (Teresa) of Georgetown; one sister Cindy Rogers of Georgetown; one half-brother, JW Buchanan (Margie) of GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ervin Odum and Elwood Odum.

A memorial Service will be held at 3 PM Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Eastside Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Holiness.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
