Douglas Ervin Odum, Sr., 63, husband of Laurie Taylor Odum, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 at his home.

Born on March 5, 1955, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Bertis DeWitt Odum and the late Mary Alice Mathis. Mr. Odum was a member of Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church and enjoyed fishing and helping others.

Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; four children, Douglas Odum, Jr. (Brittany) of Andrews, Alecia O’Donnell (Robert) of Georgetown, Shawn Cooper of Summerville and Landon Small of Georgetown; five grandchildren; two sisters, Starr Edwards (Bobby) of Georgetown and Cynthia Rogers of Georgetown; one brother, Buck Odum (Teresa) of Georgetown; a sister in law, Julie Odum of Georgetown; eight nieces, Tina Wilder, Tibbie Mathis, Fonda Odum, Michelle Kelly, Marcia Woods, Ashley Taylor, April Olin and Alaina Odum; five nephews, Gene Wilder, Allen Odum, Kris Cooper, Bob Mathis and Jarid Odum; a special cousin, Charles “Sputnik” Altman of Georgetown; special life time friend, Cindy Jordan; and numerous great nieces, great nephews and other family members

He was preceded in death by a brother, Elwood Odum.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Tommy Cox officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM Sunday at the church.
