PORT BARRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Emery Pierre Arnaud on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Port Barre. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Emery, age 85, a resident of Washington, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 21, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Emery served his country proudly in the United States Army and was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal. Emery was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed fishing. He loved going for rides on his motorcycle and keeping his grass cut. Emery also enjoyed trying his luck at the casino and watching any and all sporting events on TV. But most of all he loved spending time with his family especially loving his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Della Soileau Arnaud; sons, Jerry Paul Arnaud and wife, Vikki Artigue Arnaud and Jason Emery Arnaud and wife, Jennifer Chautin Arnaud; daughters, Sue Arnaud Deville and husband, Mark Deville and Bonnie Arnaud Pitre and husband, Todd Pitre; brother, Gussie Arnaud and Aldus Arnaud, Jr.; sisters, Mary Jane, Thelma and Rose; 12 grandchildren, Ashley (Joe), Eliza (Travis), Aimee (Marcus), Meghan (Josh), Brandon, Aaron (Emily), Alexis, Kelsie, Gannon, Karlie, Brennon and Emeri; 8 great-granchildren, Alyssa, Jenna, Avery, Tyler, Trenton, Andrew, Hudson and Austin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Aldus and Alcidie Arnaud; brothers, Harold Arnaud and Jessie Arnaud.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. The rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Arnaud, Jason Arnaud, Brandon Pitre, Aaron Deville, Gannon Arnaud and Brennon Arnaud. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Deville and Todd Pitre.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre.
