Alan married his high school sweetheart Connie Kae Spruell on August 14 1970 and were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.
Alan found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. He also enjoyed working with his hands, spending time in his shop and working in his garden. He had a strong testimony, loved serving in the temple and working on family history.
Alan also served his country in the Vietnam War with the Marine Corp.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Connie; children, Dale (Shannon) Batty of Richfield, Utah, Misti (Dustin) Rooks of Richfield, Utah, Amanda (John) West of Layton, Utah, Daniel (Nichole) Batty of Orem, Utah, and Benjamin (Marcie) Batty of Vernal, Utah; 16 grandchildren; sisters, Linda Batty and Renee (Steve) Rhoades, sister-in law: Rhonda Batty, brother: Gary (Miko) Batty.
Alan is preceded in death by his father Rex Batty, mother Lilly Mae Batty, step-mother Theda Batty and brother Craig Batty.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 at Glines 5th ward chapel, 150 S Aggie Blvd. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday, May 21 from 6-8 pm, (Ashley Valley Funeral Home) and Saturday, May 22 from 9:45 - 10:45, (150 South Aggie Blvd). Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park with Military honors provided by American Legion Post 11.
