He married Rhoda Bosworth June 11, 1864 in Pembroke Maine and raised at least nine children in Pembroke.
He was a farmer and later the mail carrier in Pembroke. After his wife's death he moved to Massachusetts for a few years and then to Farmington New Hampshire with his daughter Sadie. At his death he had been a resident of Farmington for a year and a half and died of arterio sclerosis and old age. He was retired. His remains were brought to Pembroke where he was buried on September 18, 1923, Norman L. Otis, undertaker of Farmington NH.
