He was the son of Joseph and Theresa Geiskopf Seelman.

Boonville - Joseph Seelman, 84, of 500 Main St., died Saturday in his home.
He was born in Boonville and attended its schools. He was employed as a carpenter several years ago. He was employed by the late Romeyn Vaughn and the late Stuart Hannas in Boonville, served as a Boonville police officer and also was employed by the Park Market, Boonville. He was last employed as a school crossing guard.
He married Elva Scouten on Nov. 4, 1912 in Boonville.
Mr. Seelman was a member of St. Joseph's Church.
Besides his wife, a patient of Broadacres, he leaves a son, Aubrey Seelman, Boonville.
Burial will be in Boonville Cemetery. Utica Daily Press, Monday, October 4, 1971
