Bertha Nevels, 92, of Amarillo died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Grover Neal, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.

Mrs. Nevels was born May 5, 1913, in Cameron to Baxter and Emma Black Bradley. She was reared in Cameron and graduated from Cameron High School. She moved to Amarillo in 1938 and married Bennie Nevels on Aug. 28, 1942, in Canyon. They were the parents of two children. For many years, she was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and later became a member of St. John Baptist Church. She was a member of Wonderful View Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, Tim Nevels and wife, Yvette, of Randallstown, Md., a daughter, Phyllis Nevels of Amarillo; two brothers, Bobbie Bradley of Amarillo and Al Bradley of Norwalk, Conn.; and six grandchildren, LaShanda Nevels, Joshua Pearson, Jacob Pearson, Caleb Pearson, Nicholas Nevels, and Christopher Nevels.

The body will be available for viewing from 2 to 8 p.m. today and 8 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
