Carolina was the daughter of Heiman Akker and Judikje née Zwart. On 4th February 1943 she, her parents and younger siblings, Hënriette and Aron, were deported to Westerbork and on 9th February to Auschwitz, where they were murdered. Her older brother Izak was murdered already in 1942, her older sister Leentje survived the war.
